OPAP Forward is a joint partnership in Greece between OPAP and Endeavour, who are a leading international non-profit organisation that support entrepreneurs to transform their local communities. Our partnership provides mentorship programmes and networking opportunities to small businesses and budding entrepreneurs. Forty businesses involved with the programme have increased their turnover by 21%, adding €60 million to the economy. As a result of this, 751 new jobs have been directly created by the programme while another 5,410 were created through indirect market collaboration.
Nannuka is one of the programmes biggest success stories. As a result of Greece’s financial collapse, social services and welfare programmes were underfunded. Nannuka, which was started by three mothers, provided a web-based tool connecting families to verified childcare experts and carers. The service, through OPAP’s support, eventually extended its platform to care for the elderly. It’s one of Greece’s most successful start-ups and now also operates in the UK and Italy. As a result of this, Lela Drista (co-founder) was named in Forbes Magazine’s Top 100 Women Founders of Europe.
