Sazka is a major partner of the Czech Youth Olympics (YO), a nationwide competition between regional representative teams in the U14 and U15 age categories.
The event is designed to evoke the atmosphere of the real Olympic Games for young athletes, and participants get to experience the lighting of the Olympic flame, formal ceremonies, living in the Olympic Village, and the taking of the Olympic Oath.
The YO is a project of the Czech Olympic Committee, which selects individual regions for cooperation as organisers. Olympiads take place at two-year intervals and alternate between summer and winter Games. The first edition of the (summer) Olympiad took place in 2003. Individual teams are put together by the relevant regional authorities, based on nomination criteria set by individual sports associations.
